Safeguarding

At Redlands School the Safeguarding (Child Protection) of our children is of the upmost importance.

Safeguarding means that we will promote the welfare of our children and ensure we protect them from harm.

  • protecting children from maltreatment
  • preventing the impairment of their health and development
  • ensuring safe and effective care
  • taking action to enable children to have the best outcomes

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility at Redlands.

The school operates within the Government legislation documents of;

  • Keeping children safe in education 2015
  • Working together to safeguard children 2015

Recent legislation within these documents highlights significant national issues, including preventing radicalisation in line with the "Prevent Strategy." This is part of the Government's counter terrorism strategy to stop people becoming radicalised into terrorism.

The school also works alongside external agencies to ensure all of our children are kept safe and protected from harm.

These could include;

  • Social Care, Health, Police, Local Children's Centre and the Local Education Welfare Service.

If you have concerns about a child at the school please contact;

Head Teacher: Mr. Walker, Senior Designated Safeguarding Officer or

Mrs Hollinger and Gemma Willford: Deputy Head Teacher, Designated Safeguarding Officer on 01909 473655
