Redlands Primary & Nursery School

Admissions to Schools Guide for Parents 2019-2020

Foundation Stage Parent Brochure

Redlands Primary and Nursery School welcomes children of all abilities regardless of race, creed, colour, gender or disability.
Applications can be made at any time, although we usually encourage parents/carers to register their children once they reach the age of two and a half years. Children enter our Nursery aged three years and three months of age. Children are admitted from the waiting list chronologically, according to the School Admission Policy and are allocated a part-time morning or afternoon place.

We encourage visits, so please telephone the school to make an appointment: 01909 473655.

To register your child for a place in our Nursery you will need to complete an application form and an RC1 form (below). These two documents are also readily available from the school office. Once fully completed please return both forms directly to the office. Before children are due to start in the Nursery (Foundation 1) or in the Reception Class (Foundation 2) parent's evenings are arranged by the school so  that you can come along and find out more about us  and ask us any questions that you might have.

Oversubsription Criteria

Oversubscription Criteria 2016-2017

In the event of over-subscription, the following criteria will be applied, in priority order, to determine which applications will be granted once places have first been allocated to pupils who have a statement of special eduactional needs or education, health and care plan which names the school.

Pupil Admission Number (PAN): This is the number of pupils we are allowed to admit to each year group in main school. This is 60 per year group.

Admissions to year groups other than the intake year
Applications for admission to other year groups will be considered in relation to the published admission number (PAN) which was applied when the year group was first admitted to the school, subject to infant class size restrictions. In some schools, changes in circumstances, such as the building of additional classrooms or as a result of teaching group organisation, will require the school and the LEA to agree admission numbers which will apply to each year group. These numbers may be higher or lower than the PAN in operation at the time of first admission and could be different from the current PAN. if places are available within the year group, applications will be considered in accordance with the current published admission criteria for admission to the school. If places are available, the child will normally be
admitted to the school.
